Susan Wenograd, 38 years old, lives in Richmond, Virginia with her supportive husband Steve and 2.5 year old firecracker of a daughter named Sadie. Susan has been deeply involved in the SEM community since 2007 and before that focused on e-commerce.
She is a speaker and columnist, who speaks at industry events and company events including SMX, Pubcon, Digital Summit series, brightonSEO, PPC HeroConf, State of Search and other events. She also contributes a lot of her knowledge on industry web sites like Marketing Land, Search Engine Land, Search Engine Journal and much more. It is not just limited to paid search topics but also social media paid ads, including Facebook ads.
She even participates in Twitter chats and of course, from what I hear, has helped so many individuals in our space without asking for anything in return!

Favorite thing about the SEO community? I am constantly amazed at the support and friendship I have received, especially since I’m a paid media geek and not an SEO. Everyone is so quick and happy to lend a hand, point me in the right direction, and help solve problems I run into. Plus, they’re funny as hell – total bonus!
One piece of advice to the SEOs out there? I think, especially on the SEO side, it gets hyper-competitive and there’s a lot of bickering, but the differing perspectives are very valued.
Favorite things in general? I like hanging out with my husband and toddler, and taking trips in our RV as weather permits. 🙂
What you want to be known for in the SEO space? Well, I don’t do SEO, but I truly hope that I provide value and knowledge that people find practical. There’s a lot of voodoo language around digital marketing in general, and my goal is always to strip that out and keep things helpful and realistic.
