Last Tuesday, when Google pushed out Google Panda 4.0, Matt Cutts implied that gentler for some sites but it does lay the groundwork to future changes in the direction of a softer and gentler Panda algorithm.

Now, Matt Cutts, Google’s head of search spam, said it in black and white on Twitter. In response to @Marie_Haynes‘s question, Matt wrote:

Again, we said this originally, but it is nice to have it in a Tweet from Cutts himself.

So clearly, Panda 4.0, is a huge update to the algorithm. If the ~7.5% impact on English queries did not tip you off to that, then this message should.

I hope this means that even more updates to Panda will help more sites recover.
