Ada Lovelace, The First Computer Programmer, Honored With Google Doodle

Today is the birthday of Ada Lovelace, the world’s first programmer. It is the 197th birthday, she was born on December 10, 1815 in London. In 1842, she wrote the algorithm intended to be processed by a machine. It was specifically an algorithm describing the analytical engine to compute Bernoulli numbers.

To celebrate her contributions to the world, Google has a special logo for the day:

She died at the young age of 36 on November 27, 1852 in London as well. She died from uterine cancer.

Her children include:

Ralph King-Milbanke, 2nd Earl of Lovelace

The Google logo, aka Doodle, shows her writing the algorithm and how it lead to the birth of computers and the internet as we know it today.
