Google Maps Now On Apple CarPlay & It’s Okay
Right before I went offline on Tuesday night, Apple approved a new version of the Google Maps app for iOS that added CarPlay support. This is something I’ve been waiting for since March 2016, when I got my new car with Apple CarPlay.

Google Tests Tabs On Branded Knowledge Panels
Sergey Alakov spotted Google testing tabs for a knowledge panel for branded search terms. So not specifically for a local knowledge panel but for a brand name.

Bing Also Drops Public URL Submit To Index Tool
Just like Google did back in July, Bing announced they have dropped their public submission tool. A way to submit any URL to the Bing index anonymously has been removed. It doesn’t come with any surprise, I suspect.

Google Sends Out Many Mobile-First Indexing Enabled Notices
Starting earlier this week, Google began sending out tons of mobile-first indexing notices to webmasters. In fact, as I write this, I received a few more notices foe web sites I have verified in Google Search Console.

Google Blue Shield Icon In Snippets For Some Government Sites?
Google may be testing showing a blue shield icon in the snippets for some government related sites. I am honestly thinking this might be some sort of browser extension but it may not be and it may be a feature Google is testing. This was shared by Michael Postorino on Twitter.
