Today on the Google home page in the United States is a Doodle to remember and honor the life of Amanda Crowe, the artist. Amanda was a woodcarver and educator from Cherokee, North Carolina who was an Eastern Band Cherokee. She was most well known for her woodcarvings.
She was not born today but because today is Native American Heritage Month, they are using her work and life as a way to celebrate and bring awareness to Native American Heritage Month. Google wrote:
