Yesterday was a big day for Apple, announcing iOS 7 at their WWDC event. Part of that announcement was showing that Bing was the default search engine for Apple’s Siri, replacing Google.
The Bing Search blog make sure to point it out saying, “starting this fall with iOS 7, Bing will power Siri’s new integrated web search.”
Derrick Connell, Corporate Vice President, Bing said this is an “exciting new chapter in Bing working with Apple.”
Greg Sterling digs deeper into this partnership, where there is speculation that the default search provider in mobile Safari may be switching to Bing. But that is unconfirmed, and as Greg said, “consumer preference is still strongly for Google, which may prevent that from happening any time soon.”
