Today is the annual Day of the Dead holiday celebrated by people of Mexican heritage. It is a bunch of days where families remember those who have passed away. So Google posted a Google Doodle with candles, skulls and Googley colors to commemorate the day.

Google wrote on their Doodle page:

The day is celebrated between October 31, 2018 and November 2, 2018 this year, so it overlapped with Halloween. I suspect the Doodle will only be live today, the last day of the holiday.
