Google Says 20% Of Mobile Queries Are Voice Queries

ok google

One of the statistics that everyone is talking about from the Google I/O keynote is that Sundar Pichai, Google’s CEO, said that 20% of mobile queries on Google are voice triggered. Here is a tweet from one of the many people who tweeted it, Jeff Jarvis:

We know Google has at least a 100 billion queries per month, at least that is the features snippet Google provides:

How Many Searches On Google Monthly

So if you do that math, if 50% of all searches are mobile and 20% of all of those are voice enabled, that comes out to about 10 billion voice queries are performed each month on Google. That is a heck of a lot voice recognition to process and use to get better.

I personally have been doing way more voice commands on my iPhone, mostly over Siri, since I got CarPlay in my car.

CORRECTION: This is searches over the Android app, 20% of those are voice search enabled.
