Abby from the Google Maps team posted in the Google Maps Help forum asking Google Maps users who are interested in custom maps to sign up for a research study.

Abby said if you use My Maps and Maps Engine Lite you may be interested in learning about a user study program Google is offering. The goal for Google is to get qualified feedback on Google Custom Maps.
