Google Knowledge Panel Verification

Google Verification Verified

Late Friday, Google announced they’ve opened up verification of the knowledge panels to more and more people. In fact, I was able to even verify my own Google knowledge panel within a matter of a minute or so.

Google said “any person, organization, sports team, event and media property with a Knowledge Panel is eligible to get verified and suggest edits to the information shown.” “Simply search for your name or organization on Search and click or tap the prompt below the Knowledge Panel to begin the verification process,” Google added.

It is super easy and this is the process I took:

(1) Searched for my name and found my knowledge panel in the search results. I clicked on the link that says “do you manage the online presence for Barry Schwartz?”

(2) It took me to this landing page, which seemed like a waste of time, I just clicked the blue button to get verified:

(3) In my case, it asked me to authorize myself by using the Twitter authentication process. But it can be done with YouTube, Google+, Search Console or Twitter.

Danny Sullivan said on Twitter that he worked with the team closely on this project, “making it easier for people to claim their Knowledge Panels on Google, so I’m super excited this is now live!.”

I have seen some random outlier bugs with it that Google is addressing, I suspect.
