Now if you search for a local intent query in Google, Google will still likely show results from Google Places/Maps but it will no longer give you the ability to quickly click and see additional results.

In the past, since Google began showing local results in Google’s web search results with Google Universal Search, Google showed a link to see “More results near…”

For example, here is a screen shot I have from 2011, heck I even have a video of the option from 2007 when Universal Search launched.

Notice the link to the “more results near…” Now in the new interface, Google has removed the link:

The question is why?

A Google Business Help thread has Google’s Jade Wang saying:

Jade seems to imply something else will be replacing it but I am not too sure.

I don’t see how this makes the search results better, do you?
