The Google mobile friendly update was one of the most talked about updates prior to it being released (well, Google doesn’t pre-announce stuff like this) and truth is, it was barely talked about after its release. Why? Well, the ranking changes and traffic changes, to most, were unrecognizable.

Only 11% said in our poll, which had a thousand responses, that the mobile friendly update resulted in changes in their traffic or rankings in Google. Only 11%!

65% said there were no real changes at all. 11% said only sometimes and 13% were still unsure a week or so after it was released!

I don’t think the poll would change much today, in fact, I think that 65% number would be closer to 75% or 80%.
