A few days ago, Erik from the Google News team posted a thread in the Google News Help forums asking Google News publishers to please use the report an update form when making changes to their site.
Erik said that if you make any changes to your site including but not limited to your site’s name, domain, URL structure, site layout, and whether you’ve set up a News Sitemap – let them know via that form.
This is a great way to communicate the changes to Google News and help any transitionary time go smoothly with Google News.
Erik said:
You only have to gain if you inform Google News of your changes. Well, unless you are doing things you don’t want them to find out about.
