Jade Wang from Google’s local business team announced in a Google Business Help thread that if you see new categories in your business listings, please refrain from updating them.

Jade explained there is a bug (don’t be surprised) that they are working on fixing and if you edit those categories, it may cause more issues.

Jade wrote:

So be warned. Jade has not yet said when it is safe to go in and editor those categories.
