The Google Merchant Blog announced that Google Product Search has started to work directly with suppliers and manufacturers to obtain the product descriptions, pictures and specifications directly from the source.

Meaning if someone searches for a Canon S95 camera, the information you will see do not come from the data feeds Google accepts from merchants, but instead would come directly from Canon. Well, Google is not getting it directly from Canon, they are working with a company that get’s it from Canon.
