Google Once Again Messing With Webmasters With New Rel=SuperAuthor

Back in August, Google ripped our hearts out (okay, maybe a bit too strong of language) when they dropped authorship support completely. A few weeks later, John Mueller wrote a block post on the Google Webmaster Central blog and marked up his name with a rel=”agent” for fun but removed it after we pointed it out.

Now, Pierre Far from Google in his Google guidelines update post used rel=superauthor. Here is a screen shot:

As you can see, it looks funny to some of us but for those really still upset about losing authorship, it might be considered a smack in the face.

Paul Shapiro spotted this and thought it was funny.
