Did you know Google’s SafeSearch filter is not set at a site level but rather a URL by URL basis? Google’ John Mueller said so at the 39:30 mark into a video when he explained why a domain that was adult in nature is taking so long to be reclassified as not being adult.
John said for the SafeSearch filter “the reprocessing once it starts is done on a per URL basis.” “You’ll probably see some pages kind of be visible, I don’t know in the near future, I’m guessing like week or so would probably be a reasonable time and the rest of the pages would kind of bubble up after that,” he added.
In short, when you buy a domain that was adult oriented and Google labeled it as SafeSearch, it can take some time for Google to remove that classification.
