Google Submitted A Fix To Apple For Google My Business App Bug

Maps Chalkboard Map 1200

Last week we reported that Google’s update for the Google My Business iOS app caused a serious bug that didn’t allow iOS users to open the app. Google quickly pulled down the update and removed the app from the app store, this way those who didn’t update the app could still use the old version.

Late on Friday, Google confirmed the issue and posted a message in the Google My Business Help forum saying they submitted a fix to Apple and it has to go through the Apple review process. Once it is reviewed, the new version will be available. Google expects Apple to post the version sometime early this week.

Here is a quote from Google:

Truth is, if the app had enough usage, Google could request an expedited review. They may have done that but the timing of the bug, right before the weekend, isn’t great. Pulling the app was the right thing to do.

Update: Monday, April 11th, a new version was posted to the App store that fixes the issue.
