So nothing has changes with the HTTPS ranking boost Google announced back in 2014. It still works the same way, the same level of weight is given to it and Google still has no plans on adjusting any of that.
Gary Illyes from Google said at SMX Advanced the other day that nothing has changed with HTTPS. He said the HTTPS signal is still in use, it is still “a minimal boost” and there are no plans to change it.
Of course, anything can change with Google in the future. Google has thought about increasing the HTTPs boost weight or changing it to look at more than just a URL starting with HTTPS in front of it. But again, no plans on any changes – so we are at the status quo there.
