Today is the 119th anniversary of the Ice Cream Sundae.
For that special day, Google has a special logo that really reminds people of the classic ice cream sundae. Just take a look at the logo and you will agree.
The ice cream dessert is made of scoop of ice cream topped with sauce or syrup and often some other toppings.
On Sunday, April 3, 1892 John M. Scott and Chester Platt in Ithaca created the first historically documented sundae. They named it the “Cherry Sunday” because it was ice cream with cherry syrup and candied cherries on a whim.
So how did it become known as a Sundae? According to Wikipedia:

The only issue with the logo is that it is also on Google UK instead of showing a Mother’s Day logo. Yes, today is Mother’s Day in the UK.
