Google Removes Piracy-Related Terms From Instant Search from Search Engine Land explains that Google has taken a step to remove piracy related search suggestions and predictions from showing up in Google’s Instant Search results.
So if you search for Torrents, BitTorrent, MegaUploads, Rapidshare and so on, you will not get auto-complete instant results from Google. You will have to go about the search the “slow” way and type in your full search query and click enter.
Not everyone is happy with this change. A Google Web Search Help has one user who is leaving Google over it. He said:
He isn’t the only upset individual. The VP of BitTorrent is not happy, as he said in a blog post:
Piracy advocates, if there is such a thing, should not be insulted too much. Google is still censoring the term Lesbian, which really upsets the Gay & Lesbian community.
