The Google Maverick Update Slowing Down
What a wild several days with Google updates – we had fluctuations on July 11, 12 and 16th and then some massive chatter and Google search result fluctuations on July 18th or so. Google would not confirm or deny these updates, so it was named by the community the Google Maverick Update.

Google Webmaster Hangouts Tests Moving Off YouTube To Hangouts Meet
Once again the Google webmaster hangouts hosted by John Mueller and other Googlers has to move to another platform. This time it is moving from YouTube Live Hangouts on Air to GSuite Hangouts Meet. I suspect that means it will be more of a manual process to move the archived version to YouTube later?

Google Says Keep The Same URLs For The Long Run
If you ask any SEO, changing URLs is a scary thing. If you can avoid it, most SEOs say try to avoid it. John Mueller of Google said on Twitter the other day “I’d really recommend keeping the same URLs for the long run.”

Google Scholar Or Author Knowledge Panels
I doubt these are new but hey, here is a person knowledge panel that uses Google Scholar as the profile link and also lists the citations and h-indexes. It also lists the publications and books this author produced.

Google Says It Has Restored Broken Reviews
Google has told Joy Hawkins that it has fixed all the reviews that disappeared over a technical issue. The statement she was given and she posted in the Local Search Forums was “All the reviews that have been removed for technical reasons have been reinstated. Any reviews that stay missing have been removed for policy violation and will not be reinstated. Please refer here to our policy.”
