Google Search Algorithm Update Starting On August 22
There is new chatter and signals that there may be a Google search algorithm update starting around Wednesday, August 22nd and continuing throughout today. The chatter is not as significant within the SEO community as with the Google Medic Update but many of the tools are showing signs of an update too.
Google’s John Mueller Recommends SEO Noobs Join Help Forums To Gain Experience
John Mueller of Google answered a question in a Reddit thread about advice on how an SEO noob, a person who is inexperienced in SEO, learn and get good at SEO. John said you should gain experience with the help of webmaster help forums and communities.
Google Assistant Hopes To Cheer You Up With Good News
Google announced this week a new Google Assistant feature to ask the Google Assistant to tell you about good news. You say “Hey Google, tell me something good” and Google will. It comes from the a network of Solutions Journalism Network that curates this content from a wide range of news outlets.
Google Writes Letter Of Recommendations For Agencies?
Did you know Google may have and may be currently writing letters of recommendation for third-party digital marketing agencies? I have confirmed the letter below was uploaded to an agencies web site and the Googler who signed it did actually work at Google between the April 2015 and November 2017. I just do not know if the Googler actually wrote it and signed it or if it was made up.
New Google Link Report To Get Download Latest Links Feature
Google launched the new link report in the new beta Google Search Console this week. One of the biggest complaints was it was missing the option to download the latest links, like the old version has. Google’s John Mueller confirmed that feature will be coming to the new report at some point.
