This week I published the monthly Google webmaster report summarizing the past month of changes in search with Google. Google may have done a search ranking algorithm update yesterday. Google Search Console announced the performance analytics report now are consolidating data to the canonical – you must check it out. Google Search Console has an issue with reporting on Google My Business UTMs. Bing is strong recommending publishers use the submit URL tool because they do want to slow crawling in the future. Yoast integrated with Bing and they said Google to submit content to their index live. Gary Illyes said Google’s RankBrain is a PR sexy machine learning bit. He also said that CTR and dwell time are not used by Google for ranking, again. Google denied also using signals around negative people or organizations hurting web sites they are associated with. Google updated their content guidelines for QA page markup. Google has a new user agent named google-speakr. Google is showing more featured snippets for medical queries. Google is testing event rich snippets on desktop and refinement bubbles for image search boxes. Google Maps added check in and check out times from Google My Business for hotels. Moz launched a new score for their domain authority, DA, and I polled you asking if this is helpful or hurtful. Bing is looking to hire a PM for their core search rankings.
