Video: Google & Bing Algorithm Shifts, DuckDuckGo ReDesign & Matt Cutts On Links

itunes-subscribe-video.pngThis week in search, I posted the monthly Google webmaster report. Google may be preparing for a large update, we saw shifts on May 2nd and 7th. Bing also may have done an update, this one was on May 5th. Google’s Matt Cutts told us they are working on relying on links less. Google treats the new TLDs and generic TLDs. Google dropped Amazon’s rich snippets. Google AdSense publishers are concerned about the downward earnings trend. AdWords launched MCC scripts. Wall Street Journal profiled two large SEM companies that look bad. Expedia seemed to have a penalty for a full quarter, but their earnings results didn’t reflect anything negative. Google’s rich snippets for Spinal Tap video on IMDB shows 8 out of 11. Google Maps app did a major update. DuckDuckGo redesigned and added some nice features. There is a search engine to search HTML entities. That was this past week in search at the Search Engine Roundtable.
