This week was a tad slower in the search and SEO news front. We had a fourth batch of notices about the Google mobile first indexing. Those sites moved over have issues with the Google cache, but no worries there. Google’s rich results testing tool now supports movies, TV shows and events. Google says be careful with your GDPR pop ups. Google says they support crawling TLS 1.1 or higher. Google says crawl budget optimization is overrated. The upcoming Google speed update will be an interesting one. Bing crawling your site? I might not be worth the bandwidth according to some. Google doesn’t count your typos for rankings. Google crawl stats hasn’t updated the report since May 23rd. Google structured data test doesn’t seem to work with Google Tag Manager. Google has launched a new News search results interface. Google is testing a new tab bar navigation. Google related search box is being tested as well. Maybe Google is even testing gray review stars. Google is asking for photo evidence when you edit a business’s hours. Google may be dropping anonymous Google reviews. Google will tell you if their web site is up or down (well, maybe not down). We honored Josh Bachynski, Steve Morgan and Dido Grigorov and with that, we closed out the honors series with over 130 profiles over the past 6+ months. That was this past week in search at the Search Engine Roundtable.
