A New York Times blog post talks about the possibility that Google may be violating a privacy law because there is no link to Google’s privacy policy on the front page. According to the California law, the link must be conspicuously placed on Google’s home page and readers shouldn’t have to search for it.

Forum members believe that if this becomes any lawsuit (which it isn’t yet), it would be evident that lawyers are just trying to find things to make money off of Google’s success.

People admit that they never read privacy policies. In fact, someone purposely had a fake notice in the privacy policy to see if anyone would notice, and it’s been seven years and nobody has responded.

Others think that Google’s privacy policy is still totally searchable and is easier to find than a lot of other privacy policies on other web pages. If Google would be held accountable, other sites should be held accountable as well.
