Want Google To Show Your Rich Snippets? Here Is How

Over a year ago, Google launched rich snippets, giving webmasters a way to show richer search results within Google and giving Google a way to better determine content within a particular page. Rich Snippets allow webmasters to markup their HTML so Google can display search results that look something like this:

Soon after, Google released a Rich Snippets Testing Tool because Webmasters really didn’t know if their markup was working. Why? Well, they would add the rich snippets markup and wouldn’t know if it was valid or if Google just didn’t want to show it for their web site. So now, you know if it is valid or not.

But what do you do when Google simply does not show your results with the special rich snippet features in the search results? Googler, Jonathan Simon, said in a Google Webmaster Help thread that you can notify Google that you are using rich snippets via this feedback form. He said, it won’t guarantee they use your rich snippets but “it will help us to be aware of your site’s microformat implementation as we increase our support of microformat markup/”

So if you are stuck in this situation, use the form, it can’t hurt. You can learn more about Rich Snippets over here.
