Listen To How Google Home Sources Features Snippets

Google announced their slew of hardware yesterday and while it is cool and all, the one that excites me the most is Google Home. The truth is, many of these devices do voice search – but Google Home seems like a lot of fun.

The one that had me scratching my head since Google hinted at Home back at I/O – was how would Google source their voice controlled search results. Well, Danny Sullivan posted two quick videos of them on Twitter.

In short, and as I expected, Google basically says before they start giving you the answer, “according to” and they say the web site’s name and then state the featured snippet answer. I believe this is an awesome way to give credit before giving the answer.

Glenn Gabe asked John Mueller if we can surface these home queries that yield featured snippets in the Google Search Console. John responded on Twitter he would ask:
