This week in search, I covered how Google really has not updated the Panda algorithm or data since October. There is still a lot of confusion about what Google said about Panda and they promise to clarify soon. Google’s Penguin algorithm is not running regularly yet but they will confirm the next refresh. Google is not using fact knowledge algorithms for ranking and trust. Google added two features to Google Webmaster Tools, the first is the blocked resources report and they now show a new fetch and render view. Google is discontinuing the original Webmaster Tools API on April 20th. Google talks more about how they will handle AJAX. Google does let you A/B test by user agent in some cases. Google updated their rich snippets for rating and reviews guidelines. Google Maps has a new way to report problems with business listings. Those using Yoast SEO WordPress plugin may be vulnerable to an attack. Google said 80% of eligible HTTPs URLs are not indexed because of how the canonical is configured. Google launched a car insurance portal. Finally, a webmaster asked John Mueller if Matt Cutts will return to Google. That was this passed week in search at the Search Engine Roundtable.
